In the next coming days, you will “open” many aspects of Taiwan. Also, you will visit different exhibition venues, and engage with local governments to learn more about emerging attractions and venues in Taiwan.

Through our daily “OPEN” series events, we hope to provide you with a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s transformation in recent years. We are ready to welcome more international business travelers. Welcome Dinner

The Golden Dragon Restaurant at Grand Hotel Taipei offers a Taiwanese-style round table dinner experience. The restaurant’s centerpiece is a golden dragon situated in the fountain at the front gate, symbolizing its rich history spanning hundreds of years. With a seating capacity of 180, the restaurant features a banquet hall accommodating 18 tables, as well as booths named Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, Chrysanthemum, and Jinbi, and the Guoyen Hall for hosting banquets of various sizes. The dining area is designed with glass curtains, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking views of the Keelung River, the iconic Taipei 101 tower, the enchanting Ferris wheel, and the vibrant Dazhi Bridge.

Gujia Seafood Restaurant , Taiwanese Seafood Cuisine古家海鮮餐廳

Gujia Seafood Restaurant, awarded a Michelin rating, is a must-visit dining destination in Taiwan. Unlike traditional seafood restaurants, it has a modern decor featuring large plants and a comfortable environment. Jointly run by a father and son, the dishes here have witty and interesting names and boldly incorporate Western ingredients. One of the signature dishes is the squid ink fried rice, which is cooked with truffle oil and squid ink. The quality and delicacy of the dishes at this restaurant make it well worth a visit. 

Kaohsiung Exhibition Center 

Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC) is Taiwan’s premier event venue, offering over 25,000 m2 of indoor and outdoor exhibition space and a variety of conference rooms. In 2021, KEC was selected to import the “Cultural Technology: Innovative 5G Vertical Application Project,” transforming it into a high-tech multifunctional venue that delivers various innovative industrial technology demonstrations, applications, and services. KEC aims to become a platform for innovative 5G AIoT technology applications and business development opportunities. 

Asia’s New Bay Area 

Asia New Bay Area is an industrial, exhibition and cultural site located at Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is a major construction of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan’s industrial transformation, in order to promote the urban development of Kaohsiung Harbor and downtown Kaohsiung. Asia New Bay Area includes Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, Kaohsiung Music Center, Kaohsiung Port Terminal, Pier-2 Art Center, Kaohsiung Main Public Library, Circular Light Rail, and more. 

The Old and New Taiwan Cuisine, Creative Taiwanese Cuisine老新台菜十全店 

The Old and New Taiwan Cuisine restaurant offers modern interpretations of traditional Taiwanese dishes, with an elegant decoration showcasing Hakka cultural flavors. The restaurant’s specialty is a variety of creative dishes, including signature duck, tender beef fried dumplings, and saliva chicken. Additionally, the restaurant’s presentation is distinctive, providing guests with visual satisfaction in addition to culinary delights. The restaurant has received numerous gourmet awards, including a Michelin Guide recommendation and a high rating on TripAdvisor. It is a must-visit dining spot in Kaohsiung.

Freely visit 

Liuhe Night Market 

The Liuhe Night Market in Kaohsiung dates back to 1950 and now has over 138 stalls selling mostly snacks and offering entertainment. It’s just a ten-minute walk from Kaohsiung Railway Station along Zhongshan Road. At night, dozens of steak houses offer affordable beef steak and family-sized meals. Visitors can enjoy a variety of other delicious food, specialties, cold drinks, ices, and seafood. Be sure not to miss the chance to taste papaya milk and steamed salty shrimps. 

Love River Heart and Love Boat experience 

Love River is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It’s serene waters and picturesque scenery have made it a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike. The Love River Heart is a landmark located on the banks of the Love River, featuring a heart-shaped sculpture that lights up at night. It has become a popular spot for taking photos and enjoying the romantic atmosphere. One of the best ways to experience the Love River is by taking a boat tour, which takes visitors on a leisurely ride along the river while enjoying the stunning views. 

Bar at Marriott Hotel 

The T-FUSION café on the 11th floor of the Kaohsiung Marriott Hotel serves as a coffee shop during the day, and transforms into a bar with a selection of cocktails and wines at night. The venue is spacious, with elegant, classic and comfortable interior decoration, and a great view. Adjacent to the floor-to-ceiling windows is a sky garden, offering 9 9 travelers a pleasant night. 

Pier-2 Art Center 

Situated in basin No. 3 of Kaohsiung Port, Pier-2 Art Center has been transformed into a unique open art space that provides artists and students with an environment to express themselves. It has already become Kaohsiung’s most popular cultural spot. Various art activities are held irregularly in the district, bringing a rich artistic atmosphere to the port metropolis and a new wave of southern art in Kaohsiung.

The Mayor’s Residence Art Salon

The Mayor’s Residence Art Salon, a unique Japanese wooden building with antique black roof tiles and a peaceful green garden surrounded by old camphor trees, is located on quiet Xu Zhou road. Built in 1940 during the Showa period, it features “Western-style rooms” without tatami floors, influenced by western culture on Japanese architecture. This preserved house is one of the few special ones in Taiwan. 

Computex Taipei 2023

The Computex Taipei 2023 is an international technology exhibition that showcases the latest innovations and trends in High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence Application, Next-Gen Connectivity, Hyperreality, Innovations and Startups, Sustainability. With an exhibition area of over 36,000 square meters, this event attracts industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts from around the world. Featuring Tech Insights, Hybrid Engagement, Matchmaking and Networking, and Discovering the Best New Startups, the Taipei Computex Exhibition 2023 provides an ideal platform for businesses to showcase their latest products and services, and to connect with potential customers and partners.

Bottle Cap Factory 

Nangang’s Bottle Cap Factory was built during the Japanese era in 1943, and continued operating until 2004, providing bottling parts for over 14 wine manufacturers. It was then abandoned until 2010 when Taipei City chose the spot for urban revitalization. The bottle cap factory renovation was completed in 2020. Currently there is space for meetings, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, musical performances, a night market, and more. On weekends it attracts hundreds of visitors especially when there are special events. 

Songshan Cultural and Creative Park 

The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, established in 2011, aims to foster creativity and innovation in Taipei through interdisciplinary approaches. With five key strategies, including “Creative Lab” and “Creative Showcase,” the park hosts diverse artistic, cultural, and creativity events, and strives to be a hub for inspiring and nurturing the spirits of creativity. It facilitates exchanges between industries and supports aesthetical experiences to become Taipei’s creative showcase window. The park’s mission involves continual efforts to transform it into a comprehensive, multifaceted creative center that signifies everyday aestheticism and design cognition, with a focus on creating the greatest benefits from its multiple functions. 

Not Just Library 

“Not just a library” is more than just a library. It’s an 83-year-old bathhouse monument turned cultural venue where visitors can immerse themselves in knowledge and spirits. The bookshelf, made of stacked birch plywood, emits a gentle light, inviting readers to sink in and lose themselves in invisible thoughts. The space offers endless possibilities, from personal gatherings to concerts and lectures. The vintage tiles on the wall of the half-century-old bathhouse, used by female tobacco factory workers to wash off tobacco, retain traces of past life and architectural beauty. The preserved arc bath and modern book pool combine old and new, passing down the timelessness of history.

Four Four South Village 

Four Four South Village, a former military dependents’ village in Taipei, has been transformed into a cultural park with cafes, bookstores, and art stores, providing scenic views of Taipei 101. Built in 1948 for the 44th Arsenal of the Combined Logistics Command and their families, the houses were cheaply constructed with wood, concrete, bamboo, and tiles. A fire destroyed part of the village in 1999, but it was saved from demolition in 2001 by local residents and cultural experts. It now stands as an important historical site close to Taipei 101, worth a visit for those in the area. 

Taipei 101 

Taipei 101 is an iconic skyscraper located in the Xinyi District of Taipei City. Completed in 2004, it was the world’s tallest building until 2010. The building is designed to resemble a stalk of bamboo, a symbol of strength and resilience in Asian culture. It has 101 floors and stands at 508 meters tall. The observatory on the 89th floor offers breathtaking views of the city, while the world’s fastest elevator takes visitors there in just 37 seconds. Taipei 101 is also equipped with advanced wind dampening technology to withstand typhoon winds and earthquakes, making it a marvel of engineering and a must-visit destination in Taiwan. 

Taipei I-ride 5D Experience 

The I-Ride Flight Theater is a cutting-edge tactile flight theater with mobile seats, a large ball screen, and various effects, such as wind, sound, light, water mist, and scent. It provides a fully immersive experience without the need for VR glasses. Originating from humanity’s desire to fly, the i-Ride brings the imagination of soaring through the clouds to life and invites visitors to explore its unique environment. With its advanced somatosensory simulation system, the i-Ride offers a realistic experience of flying and allows visitors to discover new and imaginative worlds.

Travel Notes

  1. If you have any questions once arrived, please call our Tour guide Ms. Tseng (Claire, +886-919-662-612), or Ms. Lin (Zoey, +886-965-385-612). 
  2. Please remember to keep proof of your identification with you during the tour (i.e. passport, visa). 
  3. Temperatures change rapidly from outdoor to air-conditioned buildings, therefore sunscreen, hats, long-sleeve shirts, personal medicine or light jackets are recommended. 
  4. Some local shopping districts or night markets only accept cash, so we recommend converting some NTD cash in advance. 
  5. Concerning your own safety, All participants shall travel together and we strongly suggest not to leave the group and travel independently without notice. 
  6. Personal expenses are not included, e.g. food and drinks from the hotel room’s mini bar and using the room’s phone to call out, souvenirs from each store, etc. 
  7. Travelers planning to leave their hotel/residence must provide a rapid antigen test to our Tour Guide within two days, so please take your rapid antigen test on 12/3, provide it to our Tour Guide in that morning, we can depart once a negative test is obtained. 
  8. Please bring your own daily necessities with you (medicine, personal items…etc) and assess your physical conditions. 
  9. Stay safe. Avoid going to non-monitored areas. 
  10. Do not swim or do any water activities by lakes, where no lifeguards are watching.
  11.  When on a boat, wear a life jacket. Never take an overloaded or unlicensed boat. 
  12. Do not go to dangerous areas alone. Observe to warnings and “stop” signs.
